Mid Back Pain

Most cases of mid back pain are caused by either muscle irritation or joint problems. The muscles are prone to irritation and may be injured by strain/sprains, sports injuries, car accidents and other trauma. The upper back is especially vulnerable when a person is in poor physical condition or is exposed to repetitive stress as in sitting at a computer too long.

Chiropractic treatments consisting of soft tissue mobilization and spinal manipulation along with physical therapy modalities are very helpful in alleviating the irritation. Exercises that stretch and strengthen the shoulder blade muscles would be helpful in addition to Dr. Miller’s advice on proper body mechanics to lessen stresses to the involved muscles and vertebrae.
